To Claudius - Few Evo Tech Q's

Claude,

Thanks for the tips on the tyres. Ordered a set of 4 Potenza RE 711' 235/45. Got only two tires so far and the other two coming next week. I fitted the two I got in the rear. However I am not to keen to drive the car as everyone says it is not advisable to drive with two different sizes in the front and the rear (front 225 rear 235) as it could damage the diff. So my baby is parked at home till the front tires are also available.

I have 3 things I need to clarify:
(1) I bought Original MMC AYC Oil. Is it sufficient to change just the AYC torque transfer mechanism oil and leave the reservoir bleeding for now (not to keen to let my mechanic mess with the bleeding without MUT II)?

(2) Also what kind of oil (brand/rating) do you use for the rear diff? and same for the front diff?

(3) What manual transmission oil do you recommend?

Thanks
Diyath

I doubt very much that driving the car would damage any diff! They always tell you to fit the new tires in the back for safety reasons. If you want to slide from the rear, put the semislicks in the front :D

I guess so. Better than not changing any of it ;) I'm not an AYC specialist I'm afraid.

I'm not sure, but I'll ask my rally team tomorrow. :)

I noticed that the standard oil makes gear selection with cold oil difficult, so I will try something more fluid. I'll have to ask what it is. I'll let you know how it feels next week when I try the car, if you like. :)
