If you've changed your own injectors -- please help
Is it easier to unplug the injectors from the wiring harness first, or pull the injectors and fuel rail out of the intake manifold and _then_ unplug the wiring harness? I'm having a hard time getting the injectors unplugged with the injectors still in the rail and manifold. Thanks.

Haven't changed the injectors on my Evo, but I did on my Eclipse, and it's a very similar layout...
Just from a quick glance under the hood, it looks like you could just pull the fuel rail off with the injectors intact, pull the injectors from the fuel rail, and then disconnect the harnesses. It may be easier this way given the hand gymnastics required to reach the harnesses when still attached to the intake manifold. Hope that helps. |
just undo the 2-12mm bolts to release the fuel rail. THen unplug the injectors from the harness, by removing the PIN, and then unplugging, they should come out very easily at this point.

I was actually putting the stock ones back in because I'm selling the car. I didn't do the original install.
