My car has little tiny chips in it already, not just the front but the sides as well. Only 800 miles im not very happy with what I see. Did they cheap out on the paint and only put on 1 layer?

I think it is inevitable.. especially considering how much faster I am driving this car compared to my last one..

When i bought my black xtreme truck, it was fresh from the factory(45 days old) I put a whole crap load of chips on the front the way i drive. I stopped getting them after a couple of months. I found out later that factory paint takes about 4-6 months to fully cure. Either buy a model that has been on the lot for 4 months or drive really slow and avoid trucks with big wheels for the first three months of having your car. I' currently trying to buy an evo, but the fully loaded models are out of stock. I guess that mine will be fresh so I might by a bra or maybe try that "clear" bra thats made out of custom cut vinyl.

The paint problems on the Lancer aren't a new complaint... personally, my car looks really bad after 30,000 miles. Realistically, I can't complain too loud for an econobox, but you Evo guys who spent $30,000 on a car with such lousy paint really kinda got screwed. If it's still presentable, look into those 3M clea bras and get some mud flaps. Once I got mud flaps, my sides stopped getting scratched and I've heard that 3M stuff is really effective for the front-end.
