I think an even better analogy would be that they drop you BECAUSE you run 6 minute miles every weekend, therefore increasing your chances of a broken leg or sprained ankle

There are types of racing that require you to have insurance coverage. Do the insurance companies know theyre covering a race car, I doubt it. If they find out are you fawked, yup.

How would the insurance company link screen names to the actual owners of the cars anyway? People's names aren't even shown in their public profiles.

not here on Evom we don't use our real names... but in most AX groups they use your name, car number and then post your times. My groups posts lot sof pictures, too.

And I've not heard of any insurance requirements with the groups I've raced with... they say they carry an insurance for the event and that their insurance requires that every driver be currently licensed to operate a motor vehicle..... but your mileage may vary on that one

Listen the bottom line is that insurance companies don't want to get stuck with claims that happen on a road course for obvious reasons. But it's kinda hard to drag your mangled car onto the street and drop it there claiming a hit and run, LOL.

Anybody smell urban legend on this one? A buddy of a friend of a guy on the internet was contacted by an unknown insurance co?

Sure, we can all imagine it happening to us and being livid, but I think NYREDEVO's right- we need to wait until we have a first hand experience with this before we get too up in arms about it. Now relax, and get your heart rate down before your med ins denies your coverage for reading an internet chat board that got your BP elevated

I second that!!!From the original(1st) post You can withdraw "Driving on autox makes You a bad driver as much as going to garage makes You a mechanic" philosophy.Honda, Acura,DSM crowd(as somebody mentioned before) it's been doing this for years ,why would insurance agents start paying more attention to what's going on track right now
