EI cars being released
EI cars being released
I talked to EI and they said 5 cars were being released this week. Just curious if any of them were people on this board. I am curious to hear driving impressions, especially impressions about the power (i.e any loss of hp from the obd2 conversion) So whats up?
I've heard "two weeks", "this week", "any day" too many times from them. I'll believe it when it happens. I'll be happy for the people that bought them when they finally are ready though..I know a few of the customers are getting pretty pissed.
The real question is are they going to be fully legal if they are released this week. It may be that temporarily they are for non-street use or something until all the paperwork is complete.
Hopefully they won't be limited mileage cars or anything. The true test will be when someone takes these cars to the DMV and tries to get plates and insurance for it.

If any EVOs are "released" this week by EI to any US address, then they are for off-road or competition use only (i.e. not "street-legal"). The NHTSA will not decide for several months whether those Lancer EVO VIIs currently in Santa Ana for "federalization" can be made "street legal." If the NHTSA decides against EI, then those EVO VIIs will have to be exported out of the US or crushed.

Why do you say for several months? In your previous posts you state a wait time of 3-6 months. We are in that target range.

Eh...if you read the ebay Evo information it says they're not going to be available until December at least. I don't think what's on ebay has anything to do with the first shipment (going to customers anyway).
