Don't get me wrong, I'm a Mitsu fan over Subaru, but, as someone posted elsewhere, they are different cars for different drivers, so, who knows? I know I'd be testdriving EVERY car in the 35K range before I'd put my name on the dotted line. Hell, I did that in the 14K range when I bought my Lancer.

 

All i have to say is that i have driven a WRX STi and a 22b and I would have a EVO over any subaru. Evo's for the road have a much better cornering and handling response due to the AYC and also the new ACD. what do Subaru have? Nothing just the run of the mill diff. and when it comes to speed the EVO also gets takes the cake. the WRX I drove had forged pistons, a TD05 turbo, had a water/meth set up, was running 20psi and thats just the basics and it ran a 13.3.
all those mods and a 13.3. please!!
In New Zealand EVO's that do 11 sec quarter mile is an everyday thing and not to much work is needed to accomplish that. so if you want a car that dosent cost much to mod and will get you in the 11's or 12's with ease. GET THE EVO....

 

I still say that it varies from driver to driver. As a company and developer, Mitsu Own2 Subaru. But, again. I say test drive before you buy.

 

And, let's be honest, some people can't handle an 11 second car, and usually the ones who can just can't afford the EVO.

 

Well thats true that they are expensive but if you were to get an evo 1-3 then the price will come down plus i think they are the best cars for getting performance out of with minimal cost to you. The 1st generation Evo's I think are the best, simple and light plus they can handle alot more punishment.

I do agree that 11's reasonable fast but I would think that you would want something that you know can easily reach that ETA. and well you can also run low boost and then crank it up when you need it..

That's more than twice as fast as an OZ Lancer's 8.8 sec
That's faster than a Roush stage 3 mustang 4.6 sec.
Faster than Saleen s281 4.6 sec. Boxter s 5.5 sec.
Faster than Lotus Esprit 4.4 sec.
Faster than 03 SVT Cobra 4.7 sec.
And close enough to a 2000/ 550 Ferrari Maranello's 4.2 sec to kick it's *** with a computer, intake and exhaust!!!!
