ECU reset to the rescue!!!
ECU reset to the rescue!!!
My Evo had been giving me serious drivability problems recently, culminating in stalling out when I was trying to pull out into traffic this morning...it took 3 tries to restart the engine...then it threw an SES light...first time ever...
I drove it home after work, disconnected the negative battery cable for about 15 minutes, then reconnected it and started up my Evo and let it idle for about 15-20 minutes.
OMFG, what a HUGE difference!!! The car idles and runs SOOOOO much better now, even with the A/C on...the spool and acceleration are smooth as silk...no more bogging...no more SES light!
Hopefully, the ECU will stay "fixed"...should've done this two months ago...

Even further, take it from me.. Disconnect that sucker WHEN installing any mods! It's the safest way to go. You don't want power running through the car when you're wrenching on it (unless it's something simple like an oil change).
Plus, then you have the added advantage of the computer "learning" the changes you just make properly.
If you need any help NOVA let me know.

That's a good tip. It seems like every job in the Chilton's start with:
1. Park the vehicle in a safe location.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

It's easy enough to do and takes about 10 seconds.
