The trade was HID and water spray for ACD + Torsen. I would make that trade-off any day.

Low 34 for msrp on the mr................that is without the 800 dollar package right, i guess that aint to bad. i thought that package(no homo) was going to cost 1500.

What is the option cost for HIDs on an 05 GSR? Can you get the sunroof as an single option without the leather? If you can't that sucks!

erikgi, sorry if you mis understood me. i was sayin that when i buy my 05 gsr i would like to have the hid and sunroof without the leather...now what mit is doin is makin you buy the sun and seat package. sun and seat cost 3 grand...but i don't want the leather by any means just the hid and sunroof...get it? why is mit makin you get leather? i got no clue..maybe they just want us to slip out? hehehe

 

i'm not sure if this belongs here, but i'm at work and my first 10 searches didn't give me a justifiable place to jot this down... anyhow...

just recently, a mitsubishi mechanic/relative of mine came back from an automotive school in chicago where he stated that certain technicians were sent there to learn about the changes for the upcoming MR...

anyways, according to him, the MR isn't just gaining a few more ponies... don't quote this on me, but he states that the MR will be getting approximately 320 some odd ponies. the reason that mitubishi's stating only 276 hp and 285 ft/lb is due to insurance pricing reasons...

but like i said, it came from a mitsu mechanic... not me. think what you what...

 

Don't all 05 models have the same turbo; so how is there a huge disparity in power between the base model and MR?

The fact that mistu doesn't offer HID upgrade without the sun & leather package sucks; but whatever the trade-off is definately worth it.

nice little theory, but think about the ramifications of what this could do to Mitsu. Some kid wrecks his MR and his parents sues Mitsu for falsifying the true power of the MR. Little Johnny didnt know he could go so fast cuz Mitsu said it only had 276 hp, but it really has 320hp.

 

It was the same for 04 GSR's too. I wanted the sound and roof, but didnt want the leather cuz its damn cold up here in MN. Had no choice though.

I cant see that lawsuit winning. Anyway I believe that mitsu would do such a thing with HP ratings. Doesnt Japan have an unwritten rule that care cant have past like 281HP or something, I think it was called the Gentlemen's Agreement. Causing manufacturers like Nissan to detune test vehicles? I hope mitsu would do that.

I believe the "Gentleman's Agreement" is over now. But it was in place before. They would just state the HP at 280 even if it had more.
