Turbotrix in Modified Mag?

Definitely, a killer EVO. What's up with the DSM brakes replacing the stock Brembos?

I would assume they do that so they could fit a smaller rim with a stickier tire to hold all that power they're making.

Yep, they replaced it in order to fit the smaller tire on there. It states it in the article. When I first read that they "upgraded" the brakes to 1999 GSX ones, I was like: "What???" I guess you don't need as much stopping power when your drag racing. If it was a road race/auto X car, I don't think it would be worth the trouble. Did you notice that TT painted the calipers red though...surpised they didn't slap on a brembo sticker just for good measure.

You guys also notice the air-to-water intercooler they have on it? I don't know, the evo just looks weird without the FMIC. If you've got a copy of the modified, check out the 350Z that was featured. It's got a front mount air-to-water intercooler. Never seen one of those.

the reason for the smaller brakes was to fit 16" rims and run a taller tire at the track.

I like how they have the "anti-torson" bars on all the IC plumbing.

We used the 16" wheel because hoosier didnt make a 17". We had to keep the wheel tall to keep down the really high rpms through the trap. On the hoosiers the car goes through at 8400 in 4th. We used a DSM turbo setup which pushed the turbo out past where the radiator would go. Therefore we moved the radiator to where the frount mount would go and then moved to a liquid to air.

Ummm, they use a parachute. You need plenty more stopping power if you are 9's capable, it is in fact required by the sanctioning body. Having upgraded GSX brakes is a step down from Brembos, but the 'chute more then makes up for it.
