streetracing forum

some guy just wrote
"Street racing stories are not welcome on Evolutionm.net. This site does not condone the glorification of illegal activities.

If you post up a thread with any street racing content, your thread will be deleted and you will be subject to warnings and or banning.

Just DON'T do it!

thx
SC~"

i dont get it, this aint a forum for kids under 13, and/or ricers
why not have a sr forum?
supraforums.com have them and had them for the past few years, are we worse, more immature?

ps i really appreciate how evonm.net is worried about us and our safety

"Some guy?"

He's one of the moderators. It's best you show a "little" more respect for him. Have you read those kill threads on SupraForums? If there's no video (and even if there is from time to time) all it basically turns into is a bunch of pointless bickering and arguing over who is (has) the biggest e-dick. Besides just cluttering up a forum with pointless flame wars, they also don't want to condone any illegal activity. I admit, I like watching a good racing video, but not read about how somebody with a Civic DX beat a Stage Eleventeen 'Sup Dawg without an ounce of proof to back it up.

It's more than just us and our safety, I'm pretty sure that the site doesn't want to publicly condone illegal behavior. Yeah, maybe everyone likes to pull on somebody now and then, but it's still against the law to "street race", and especially in Northern Virginia with a dozen or so teenage deaths in the last couple of weeks, they're REALLY cracking down. Plus our Evos win every race anyway so it's just "I beat XXX" ad nauseum

Believe it or not buddy, cops can access this forum and we also have respected members who are police officers. I for one would like for this forum to remain respectible and avoid the chance of any run-in with the wrong side of the law. Recently, there was a fatality in a street racing incident in Memphis. These members responsible were a part of a forum which allowed street racing talk. As of now, both members are being tried for vehicular manslaugter, illegal racing, reckless driving, and a number of other counts as well as their web forum is under investigation. Thanks for understanding the situation given to you by Secret Chimp. There are better ways to have fun than putting people's lives at risk.

P.S.- a mother of 2 and her mother were killed instantly when the vehicle struck them at well over 115 mph

a) street racing is for idiots.

b) if we have a street racing forum, you can garrentee that the law enforcement will be visiting, monitoring every thread that gets posted... Do you really want to draw that much attention to you?

If you think about it, a street racing forum is a really bad idea.

There is nothing to "handle" when someone pulls out in front of you assuming you are doing the speed limit, when in reality you are doubling or tripling it. You can't be smarter than the physics of the world.

AGAIN, im not talking about STUPID IDIOTS, racing their civics in the middle of a busy street, ok? Just a forum where normal people could talk about their experiences. Like i know a guy who just bought Lamborghini Murcielago,
wouldnt you want to see a vid of me and him racing in the middle of a night, in the middle of nowhere?????

Not to offend anyone, but, I personally dont get the whole 'street' racing thing.

I remember talking to two guys that raced each other on the 'streets' late at night, they were both convinced that they won the race.... lol... go figure. Actually, I remember talking to alot of guys like that.

why not take it to a track? It's safer, it has a finish/start line and has actual timing equipment so you know exactly whats going on...

either way, goodluck on the street racing forum thing.

1. What makes you think you are so much smarter than the average driver?
2. People wreck all the time with no one around.
3. We at Evom, have concern for all members. We are not trying to flame you, just trying to keep people safe.
4. Yes, I do want to see that vid, but preferably on a safe track where there is a controlled environment for speeds that high.

Law enforcement does not have time to look up these forums or even know they exist. Jeez.

There should be a little more freedom for street encounters on these forums. It could be highway pulls against another car, not necessarily organized illegal midnight street races. It's a way of summing up another car's power and performance, not so much about running people off the road.

I've seen the mods let people get away with street racing stories every once and a while, but I personally think it's best to keep it at that. They let a video stay up with a Enzo playing around on the streets, haven't checked the thread for a while but I think it's still there.

I would like to see the video of the Murcielago, put it up and see what happens. The worst they will do is give you a warning.
