I will post some pictures once the bar is done. This guy building the bar does good work, it is his business. That said he doesn't like to do the removable bars, prolly has not done enough of them to be second nature.

Moroso in CT designed a 6 pt roll bar kit fr the Evo 8 for Pruven Performance which fits so tight to the roof you have to look hard to even notice it

Combined with removable side bars you would never even know the cage was there in the driver's seat unless the side bars were in

I have a similar 6 pt cage in my car and the most noticeable thing is the vast improvement in the rigidity or the car and handling - the roll bar makes a huge difference

If your insurance company sees it they will cancel you.

No, they will lower your rates. Same if you have a harness.

When it comes to any sort of safety equipment that is even remotely related to tracking your street car, I wouldn't say a thing about it unless asked directly.

I inquired about my coverage should my car get damaged during a high performance driver's education event (HPDE). GEICO said I would be covered but that I would be dropped should I make a claim. No biggie. I can deal with that. Then they proceeded to drop my umbrella rider because of the information I provided because I didn't meet "underwriting guidelines".

Lesson learned: Don't ask and don't tell unless directly asked.

ok, so you can see that the rear supports are removable from the hoop, otherwise you can't get the hoop out of the car.
2, there is a backer plate under the hoop ends, under the car that the bolts connect too.
3, there is a backer plate under the wheel arches that the rear braces attach too.
a plate on the bottom of the hoop ends and brace ends is bolted down through the body to the backer plate.

Wow! That looks to be a very high quality installation to my non-expert eyeballs. Do you have pics of the front driver/passenger compartment as well?

sorry machron 1 this is only a four point bar. there are no bars forward of the main hoop.
but thanks for the positive feedback. The difficulty factor increases with removability(?) but over all he did a nice job.

Oh I see. Is there a way to get removable front side bars for that cage? 2 stars out of 5 in the NHTSA side impact test isn't exactly comforting.

A cage can give you the bars you want. a roll bar, as this is is just for going inverted.
