Not the tires

Most definitely not the tires. It sounds like the ACD pump cycling. Dunno why, but you will notice it.

Less vibration

With the larger 10.5cm^2 housing, power delivery should be a bit smoother. Boost shouldn't hit as hard, while you get more top end.
I definitely mean less vibration xfer'd into the cabin. It really is a lot smoother. I just drove home at a rather brisk pace and the thing is just silky smoooooth.

Wicked White

Actually it is the new Wicked Witch of the West White. The whole reason I even stopped by the dealer last weekend was to compare the Weighless White and Wicked White, see the new blue, and check out the MR. The whites were completely the same. No difference as far as I could tell. I agree - I think they just changed the name. They didn't have the blue in-person, and of course, no brochures. The MR hadn't arrived yet either...... so I bought the '05.

This whole warranty thing has been blown way out of proportion, imo. The great thing about my '03 is it didn't require any warranty work. Somehow I think the '05 is going to do great too.

Do you have any idea what that vibration is? Also how insignificant is it?

I am kinda concerned b/c I am looking at an 05 gsr, and don't want any hidden suprises.

Nice picture. I'm suprised you let someone else drive your car on a rainy day. Glad nothing bad happened. I bet that guy doesn't drive HIS car that hard. You got a taste of what I have to go through sometimes.

damnit, i wish i lived in cali... i still have another 2 weeks to wait for mine... BLARGH. anyways, that was a great writeup and makes me more confident in my decision to have waited for an '05 instead of "settling" on an '04 or '03

nice write up.

i just checked the mitsu website and even though it says the HID's are optional I did not see them in the accessory or option package anywhere. Did you get the HIDs ? If so can you please let us know what the price is....thanks.

I don't know what to say - it has really surprised me. At first I thought I was imagining it or that I was comparing a 13,000 mile car to a brand new one. But the more I have driven the car, the more I think it is quite real. The guy who drove my car today agreed that the '05 is smoother, too. I am just really curious what changed.

Joe
Nice review. With respect to a smother engine, maybe decided to use softer engine mounts? Just a guess.

I hear ya...what Mistu did was totally incomprehensible. Introducing 03 and then offering 04 for a couple months and now the 05. I feel bad for the 04 guys unless the price is higher on the 05. I myself have the 03, which I got only 8 months back. I don't think i would trade it in as there's no way i'll get the money i wanted, but then again i don't have any complaints with the 03. The new features on the GSR are definitely nice. Had i known of it would i have waited....perhaps, but there are other factors to consider...

Enjoy the 05
