I've seen a few rumors stating that the new 6 speed on the JDM Evo VIII is going to be a sequential manual gear box. And no I'm not kidding.

Unbelievable how much **** people talk
No, not a *REAL* sequential manual gearbox (like the ones used in rally cars). It would be more like the SMG II tranny in the new BMW M3.

you are talking about a clutchless manual like Porshe and BMW sell in the 911s & M3s?

SMG II is a real sequential manual gearbox

S = sequential
M = M
G = gearbox

I think you're thinking of manumatics, such as tiptronic, which does not have a clutch. it still has a torque converter and just allows for manual selection of gears. big difference between the two

Porsche does not have a clutchless manual. tiptronis is an automatic with manual selection of gears.

Only BMW, Ferrari, Maserati, and Toyota (in the MR2) have sequential gear boxes.

they are not clutchless, if they didn't have a clutch, it would be an automatic. however, they do not have a clutch pedal.
