My boy at the mitsu dealer just called and told me that they just got a letter about the evos injectors failing when used with race gas and that they have one evo in there now getting its injectors replaced. He also said that there is a recall for the cooling fans because they are dying out.

huh.... race gas.... stock injectors..... recall...? This doent make any sense. I'm sorry, but there is no way IN HELL that Mitsu would recall injectors used on Racegas.

That's what the title thread says "injector recall". I guess it should say "fan recall".

 

It is actually the cooling fan controller on 03 evo's with a production date before July 2003 for the recall.Hope this helps.as far as the injector issue,haven't heard of any failing from "race gas".The o2 sensors are prone to premature failure due to the Lead in race gas,
but have never heard of injectors failing from it.

 

Mine was made in May '03, now I am worried.

 

yeah I got a letter from mitsu too about the fan relay unit. They say the work takes about 30 minutes to fix it and its free. I have a 03 US OZ.

 

Dont worry,you will get a letter soon.The affected part is the cooling fan controller as it may,I repeat,May malfunction,causing your engine to overheat and could cause damage.If you are very worried just go to your local Mitsu dealer and they will take care of it for you providing they have the replacement part on hand.Other affected vehicles are the 03-04 outlander and 02-03 lancer and it is campaign notification SC-04-005.

 

I got a letter last week about the cooling fan recall, but nothing about the injector. I took it to the dealer ealier and they ran out of part for it, what a bummer. Good new tho, I finally saw the MR for the first time, but I wouldn't pay 35K for it tho.
