ACD and alignment

i've been trying to find out whether or not this is true but i've heard a rumor that if your alignment is off, the ACD won't function properly.....is there any truth in this?

what you means by "off "? It doesn't make any sense to me if it true.

i mean that the alignment is misaligned....i'm just curious because i live in boston and our winters = very bad potholes so the car has to go through an alignment fix at least once (if your lucky) a year

Where did you "hear" this misinformation from? Your ACD system works independently from your alignment settings, meaning it has no sensors to check your alignment that will affect its performance.

The ACD actively biases power transfer between the front and rear wheels. That's all it does.
