I own both. Not true.

On the other hand a lightly modified Evo (e.g. FQ-300) is clearly quicker than the 996.

So you are saying if you were offered a 911 Turbo for your EVO you would turn it down? I think not......

obviously if there weren't other factors involved he would prolly take the porsche..but common..unless they were just giving the 911 turbo without any money wanted back the evo is the better choice..i guess he forgot to say whether or not he would take an evo over porsche even if both were offered for the same amount of money..

Stock EVO will walk a 911 N/A NO PROBLEM!!
Well not quite....I dynoed that very 911 that night and it made 235 WHP on DD

The same day I dynoed a stock evo I am doing some work on and it made 205 WHP

Given the weight advantage the Porsche has I would say the Porsche has that race won...
Although a few hours and a few grand the Evo will be saying bye bye to the stutgart stormer....my 2c

And its not a small difference either, giving the Porsche a great advantage.

It is amazing how far Porsche goes to save weight such as a composite clutch pedal, magnesium hand brake assembly, behind the dash is TIG'ed aluminum, a aluminum jack, etc.

Should have waited for a potential buyer to pull out of the lot and pulled up next to him/her,

A Porsche is a very fast luxury car. Those things you mentioned are marketing endevors. If they really wanted to save weight, they take out all that leather, gadgets, and plush carpet! But then it wouldn't be a luxury car anymore.

An EVO weighs in around 3200lbs and that Porsche weighs in around 2910 I think he said. But the EVO is a 4dr AWD sedan! And the EVO has a heck of a lot longer wheelbase, which basically means that it's a lot larger car.

Plus the EVO costs about 1/4th of what the 996 does, so it's really rediculous to compare them.

Porsche makes one hell of a fast car, I mostly posted that pic because I thought it was funny for my car to be out front of all those snooty Porsche dudes inside.

They know about it because I educated them
I was their customer until I sold my Cayenne Turbo...
