That is kind of excessive.

Well bro, not to sound sinikle but hey, thats what you get. When people start to understand that AWD doesnt mean invincible on any road condition then we'll all be better off.

I like to play it safe when it comes to my car... they also say 5000 mile oil changes but I don't wait that long to do it.

But this guy said he did it with under 1000 miles which is certainly under the breakin period no matter who you ask 1000 miles is kinda a minimum for break in.

people poeple PEOPLE, SLOW in fast out and NO braking through turns (or lifting off the throttle)!!

... unless you are acquainted with trail braking.

I wonder how well the Lotus Elise will survive the american public... my guess's worse than the average evo owner... they really should start providing a test like in Gran Turismo to decide what cars you're allowed to drive... lol... j/k

anyways... like e8 said... slow in--->fast out... and, trail braking is your friend...

my suggestion is to learn the limits of your car at some simple SCCA solo 2 events then move on to other closed track events... or driving school if you can hack up the cash...

the other thing about these cars are other components are vulnerable to damage when another component is damaged, like in your case... take it to the dealership if you have faith in them and keep your fingers crossed they don't void your warranty, bleed your brakes wrong, or put your tires on backwards...

Evos are really tuff. Spun mine out a couple of weeks ago hit a tree real light. Some body damage and out of alignment that’s it but I swear if it was any other car definitely would have been messed up more. good luck gettin your MR fixed

You see this each year when a new batch of Evos are released. Seriously, do a search. A bunch of people wrecked them right when the ‘03s came out, then when the ‘04s arrived and now we will see a bunch of bent ‘05s. The Evo just takes a while to get used to. It is not like the cars that most of us have experience with. Take it calm, learn the car and don’t do what Tommi Makinen does (or did).

Best wishes and be safe,
f86sabre

I race gas touring RC cars. They are AWD also. When you're racing around the track and get to pushing them to thier limit, they will spin out. Just like the EVO. Like the one guy said, you have to know your car's limits. Especially in the rain. The car has plent traction, but when entering corners on wet pavement, the car will[I][U] spin out. Just take it easy guys.
