Just installed AEM intake

I just installed an AEM intake, I installed it myself, but now I'm a little paranoid. I still boost to 21psi. But I feel the car sluggish.

if i still boost 21psi as normal, would that mean there is no boost leak, and it just my imagination.

Thanks in advance

You are most likely running richer than before, you need to get tuned to utilize an intake effectively. Make sure all the clamps are tight and get tuned for the intake, in the meantime enjoy the new turbo sounds you can hear

yea but if i leave a gap , im thinking it should lose boost. everything seems tight , but i might need to tune because of better quality air being sucked in

you could use an AFC or get flashed, or whatever other engine management you want. The only way you would be losing boost is if the BOV is leaking. It is just runnng richer than stock which is why performance will suffer. Once you get tuned you will feel alot more power.

The reason that you run richer is due to the fact that the intake is drawing in much more air and screwing up the MAF sensor readings, which it compensates by dumping more fuel. As far as a boost leak, the intake isn't really pressurized due to the fact that it is before the turbo. If everything is tight and no gaps you will be fine. The only thing I don't like about the AEM intake is how the BOV sits. I bought a bigger piece of rubber hose to connect the BOV to the intake pipe in order to prevent it from popping off.
