Fuel gauge not reading right.
Fuel gauge not reading right.
I was wondering if your fuel gauge is reading right. Before when I fill up and add an extra $.50 at the pump, my gauge would hit pass the "F" mark. Now lately my gauge would hit the same, pass the "F" but then go down the opposite. Do any of you guys have this situation? I heard of a few people having this problem and took it to the dealer to get a new sending unit but after a while it happens again.
I'm not sure what you're asking exactly...But let me tell you about a month ago, my Fuel gauge started reading poorly also. When I fill up my tank, it falls a decent amount short of the "f" mark (it reads maybe a hair above the 3/4 line). My fuel gauge will already be down to the 1/4 mark after driving 125 - 150 miles. When I fill my tank up, it usually takes less than 8 gallons to refill. I'm not terribly concerned though...it's annoying, but I figure I'll just get it fixed under warranty, whn I have the time!
fuels expand when its hot. Maybe that's causing it. it's that or something isn't grounded right...
the tank takes 14 gal, 10 gal to use, 4 gal for reserve. When you hit the light, you've used the 10 gal.

. Dealer had to change out the tank sensor unit. It didn't go the full completely when full. Dealer can check the resistance of the sender. How does yours read when getting close to empty?? Does the light and the gauge read close?? You can simply pull the cluster out and adjust the needle if you want.
