evo acceleration question...
evo acceleration question...
im wondering...i only had my evo for 3 month and the only mod i done is the Blitz SUS power intake... it been driving fine for weeks..then today..i noticed... my evo doesnt accelerate at 3000rpm anymore..i hear the turbo spool up but i dunt feel the boost... im in second gear by the way... and when im in 3rd gear...i can feel and hear evo accelerating at 3000rpm... something wrong?
Get the intake off the car if you have not tuned for it. It throws your MAF signal all out of wack. Most likely it's making your car very rich to compensate for the increased air flow or you could have a boost leak.
i find intakes to be of no use, i installed a jwt popcharger intake on my 350z and it stalled my car, i didn't get any whp gains..maybe like one, but driveability sucked...i would just go for a drop in filter into the stock airbox where theres no heat soak going on...when i trade in my evo in december...i'm not gonna touch the intake
when i first installed it...it wouldnt accelerate at all..then i find the pipes flew off...of i took them and tight them up...everything is workin ok... i mean...for the acceleration... i don't FEEL any boost at all in 2nd gear...i even went up to 6000...nothin...
but when i change to 3rd...wahh lahh...i felt it good...

I noticed similar effect after my open intake install.
But after replacing stock bov with aftermarket Forge VTA bov its much more responsive. I thing stock bov leaks.
Also, you should install a boost gauge to measure the boost.
