good mod, i'll check the engine, turbo and drive train as well as the ecu before I buy it. Check the water pump and all the other components before you buy.

You maybe barganing for more than you're willing to pay for.

Its a 2003 with 15,000 miles, he is selling it because of personal money issues. And is asking $26,000 is that pretty fair? Personally I think its a great price but like I said I only know the world of Subaru and am looking forward to learning all I can about this sweet car.

On the phone I asked about the tranny and he said it was still rock solid and is showing no signs of wear. So do you all suggest I do a compression test on the engine? I have a kit and can just take it with me. If so what are good readings for compression on this car? As far as checking the water pump what is a good method?

Thanks again for all your help greatly appreciated

I say its wise to do a full check of any modified car (or stock even).. Even though my car is modified, if I were in the market looking for another, I'd steer away from any car that is modified, or gave me any reason to believe it was modified at one time.

After seeing the hack job alot of guys do to cars I'm just very cautious.. Although I generally believe many of these cars go up for sale due to the fact that they can't afford to keep them anymore, most go up for sale due to little gremlins from modifying the car.. (Cams and injectors are a good example of that)

The combination itself is your typical (and good) combination of basic mods and Dynoflash tuning is first rate..

Just check the car out closely, do a compression check, if you have access to a borescope (endoscope) take a look inside the cylinders through the plug holes. Do a VIN check with the dealer to find out if it has been serviced under warranty for anything like a transmission failure or bad clutch at very low mileage.. No matter what anyone tells you, the transmission and clutches do last if the cars are driven normally.. Also verify the warranty is still intact (usually after a certain point we who mod our cars, don't bring them to the dealer any longer to avoid killing whats left of the warranty "just in case" and service them ourselves..)

Have a mechanic check out the car first but $26000 car with those mods looks like a good deal. If He has stock clutch It could go out soon with those mods.

Did he mention what boost level he was set at? With the pump and the injecters, the safety cushion is there to push well past stock boost levels. I suggest finding that out as well.

Other than that, it's an impressive mods list with all the bases covered for drivability and reliability.

I have already set aside $1000 dollars for the car for any repairs such as clutch or tranny. TurboTrix in jersey looks like a great place to have it worked on and inspected. And I understand if you are gonna play sometimes you gotta pay. But does anyone have any numbers on what a good compression check should render?

Nice, those are some good numbers to atleast base my test off of. My friends turbo'd b16a just put down 185+ on all 4 cylinders and we where pumped. The 210 is even better!!
