She needs to be on the paperwork otherwise it wont work. Basically the bank needs that for assurance and collateral. If something goes wrong with the car, they want to ensure that the owner has full coverage to compensate for the damages. You being the owner, and your mother being the insured person doesnt go with what I just said above.

Now let me play the devil's advocate on this one. You can insure it initially on your name just to get the car out the dealership, then after a few weeks cancel your insurance, and quickly switch it under your mother. Not very legal or ethical, but then again I am playing devils advocate here.

The dealership you are trying to buy the car from may not have a bank that is willing to do this. There are some banks out there that are willing to Reg. to one person and title to an other but very few. The alternative would be to just re reg. the car after the sale.

 

thanx man but jigga if i were to do what you said i still need the registration under her name if she wants to do that, and yea im gonna call you cause i want to get a ralliart i just had an es but sold it and i kno they will give me the ralliart by myself cause the gave me the es and i didnt miss any payments
