Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 255/40/17

I mounted these on CE28n 17X9 with 35 offset. Suspension is stock. Clearance is very tight (front near strut in particular). I am concerned about clearance in hard cornering.

This is a particularly wide tire for a 255 (10.7 inch section width). Has anyone used this set-up successfully on a road course? Need to roll rear fenders?

I have seen posts re FNO1R-C with same offset running 255 (but not the Michelin Sport Cup).

Thanks for your help.

-Stephen, that is an awfully wide tire. I have tracked & auto-x 255/35-18 michelin ps2 on the 18x9 35 offset ce28s. the ps2 is a very "narrow" 255, it doesn't rub at all. the tires are basically flush w/ the fenders.

Thanks for your response. Tire Rack gives that tire a 9.7 inch section width (one inch less than I am running).

Anyone else running the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 255/40/17? Rim and offset?

Thanks.

Stephen
