Why does the factory use metal and rubber hoses for the intercooler piping?

why do civics rev on me? why is my bro a ***? how many licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop? the world may never know. I would think to lower costs down versus silicone hoses.

i still use rubber for my homemade IC pipe. It will work just as good as silicone.
