MR vs. 05 STi

05 Evo/ 05 Evo RS vs. impreza
There's no point in moding an MR

If you get an MR Leave it stock

Once again If you are going to do Mod's Get an RS

I think they should change the RS's name to RTM

Ready To Modify

Nothing too wonderful about the 6 speed... The 5 speed is much more beefy... I've seen both tranny's disassembled, and the sprockets in the 5 speed are larger.. Yes they are breaking them already...

The front LSD is where the good traction in cornering comes from, which will be in my lowly 03 very soon...

The ACD is more crap to turn, and break... Mits aint gonna fix that when it breaks.. And it WILL break when most of these guys start having too much fun with them... Then they'll moan about how the car sux once again...

All in all, save the money and keep the 03 and mod, mod away!!

I was cruising thru a Mitsubishi/Chevrolet dealership in Waterloo, IA today and spotted a dark gray Evo. Noticed the BBS wheels and realized, this is an MR just sitting outside in the drizzle! The dealership was Rydell Mitsubishi/Chevrolet and they are known for "bottom line pricing" right up front. There hanging off the mirror the price: $35,594 - $3,106 = $32,488. This is the same dealership I bought my '03 Evo from for $28,000. This is a real good price from what you all are seeing out there, right?

I use to have the '03 Evo, it's awesome! But MR is an upgrade, better and more refined!

if you ask what is "best" to have, of course the MR.
there are some difference between the regular Evo and MR, you can't deny the facts.
do u just care about the straight line performance? or u want all around performance? i think most of evo owners are all-around performance road warriors.
yeah, u can get a Evo, and mod it faster than any cars. not just to MR.

what MR has that you don't have? here,
aluminum roof, $$$, doesn't know the cost
6 speed tranny, go figure, maybe $2500
BBS wheels, $$$$$$$ maybe another $1800
Bilstein stocks, $$$$$$$$$$$$$ $1200
HID headlights $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ another $500
ACD, is this stardard on all Evos? I am not quiet sure.....
Vortex Generator, maybe $150

We are talking about $6000 to $7000 difference in upgrades here. and if u want all around performance, i don't think a 5 speed will beat MR on a track or track like surfaces.

Note: All the items above are not including installation or bad workmanship by inexperience mechanics.

Stop hating the MR, people.

Were not hating the MR

Were just trying to make you understand that If you bought the MR for strictly performance and mod's you may have spent too much money. The only 5-speed that can out perform the Mr on the Track is the RS. The Mr are is a spectacular car Stock. But modding it just doesn't make sense for the money

Thank god, it made me go find a better dealer and now I have a MR for 500 under sticker. Cherry hill mitsu is on the dealer boycot list and its for a good reason. Google thier name and see

It all comes down to how badly you want a six speed. Everything else can be changed with better parts. I had the down payment on the MR and changed my mind and got the gsr. I'm loving it I don't miss the xtra gear.

Don't get me wrong if we would have gotten an MR with all the goodies I would be driving an MR But for now the gsr is better for me. As for the MR being quicker than the 05 gsr, I wouldn't be so sure. To me my 05 pulls better than the 03-04. If I come by an MR I'll put it to the test.
