Verified 271 hp.

More fuel for the fire....

Just got a call from my salesman in Kansas City this morning. He said that some of their mechanics just got back from a training course on the Evo in Chicago, and brought back some info.

They said it would have 271 hp, and 273 lbs-ft torque. I've seen these numbers popping up elsewhere on the forum, and since my dealer hasn't exactly been forthcoming with info in the past, I'd say there's a 99% chance that's what we'll be looking at.

He also added that they expect to have cars on their lot by February 25th.

Just wanted to throw this out there, add to the information pool.

Tux - which dealership are you dealing with?

You live North or South?

We ought to get together once we get our cars...

the sooner the better.

271hp is good. 273lb ft of torque is good too. Gotta figure with some minor mods 325hp 325lb ft of torque should be reasonable.

What exactally are you calling a minor mod? I think you are being very hopeful thinking you will get a 20% improvement with "minor mods".

I would call a full exhaust a minor mod. Add a few more and you can probably reach the 300+ mark. I guess we'll find out for sure when the Evo has arrived and we can determine where the limitations are. Either way 271hp sounds awesome!

On the previous Evos, adding a full exhaust from turbo onwards and a free-flowing air intake system gave about 40hp.
The stock exhaust and intake are quite restricted and being a turbo car, the HP gains were substantial.

So the cars went from 300hp stock to 340hp
This was done in the UK but they have slightly higher gas octane as well.

January is the official launch but cars won't be arriving at dealers in any real quantity until late February or early March.

If this is confirm and official, 271crank HP = to rougly 221whp + or - on a Mustang AWD Dyno.

Estimating:
With the weight of the car in the low 3100lbs., it should achieve (with a 1.8X 60ft) low 13's.

High 12's with a few basic bolt-ons...this will make my grin from ear to ear.

dazz!! Another guy in DFW. They're coming out of the woodwork in the last few weeks.

271hp? I can dig it. Feb. 25th would be awesome considering my birthday is 2 days before.
