paint weighs a lot. lol

I wouldn't replace my aluminum hood. It's got a better crash zone, but it's not going to chop off my head on head on collision like CF hoods do.

Don't you know?

Aluminum disipates heat better than c/f, doesn't c/f actually act as an insulator?

well... the price and it's worth is up to you see... that's why i think the ricey wet carbon hoods aren't worth it. but for the ones that are worth it... ti's a huge cost.

How about I put it this way: Do whatever the hell you want to your car. Just don't ask me to respect it or you.

That goes for V8 guys, bikers, ricers, girlfriends, whatever.

for every 100 lbs of weight saves close to .1 seconds on a quartermile or equivelent to 10 horsepower. So yes, 20 pounds here and there does help tremendously. You wont save 20 lbs on our stock hood I doubt but just for the sake of argument 20 pounds does help combined with other weight savings.

Hood on my Supra was aluminium and very light so I can't see getting a CFR hood for that car, however my IS has a steel hood and is very heavy. An aftermarket hood would go a long way if you you are interested in lightening that car.
