Laser Jammers are legal in all states right now. Even VA but there are only 11 states that use Laser in numbers that should worry you.

I use the Blinder M-20 and I can tell you it is the real deal. For those of you who are interested I recommend www.radarbusters.com Great review site with very useful information.

JTB, tell me about the Blinder and why you didn't go that route. Thanks for the pics of the Escort!

There are several reviews out there of both the blinder and the ZR3. Radartest.com rated the ZR3 as the best model 1 year ago. As "thestaton" pointed out radarbusters.com also did some reviews, but with a different version of the blinder. They liked the blinder better, but also liked the ZR3.

I researched this quite thoroughly and found a fair amount of feedback from users of the ZR3 that had avoided tickets; also no one complained that it hadn't worked. I also respect the Escort name whereas I was unfamiliar with blinder.

Rocky Mountain Radar on the other hand appears to be universally disliked and their devices seem to be considered all but useless.

If I were buying one today, I would probably take a very close look at blinder as well -- Especially as it appears that Escort is no longer selling the ZR3.

It definitely saved me from a bad ticket and paid for itself in doing so.

I had the Blinder M-20 on my WRX for a few months. The only reason I bought the unit was because the state cops where setting off our military base running laser. I had the opportunity to test the unit 7 times coming off base *yes its that bad* and everytime the cop would get a blank look on his face shake the gun and look really confused. The distance is outstanding with the blinder to where as each time it would start jamming from about 200 yards out. Another selling point fo the blinder was that in states like VA where they are illegal the jammer does not return anything to the unit. So basically the cop thinks he screwed up and could not get an accurate reading and suspects nothing. But with the cops in Delaware I never bother to turn it off and usually give them a slow wave as I pass I'm going to have it professionally installed on my EVO this week so I dont get a ghetto looking cabin install like I did on my WRX So if anyone can recommend any one who does these sort of installs in the Delmarva area for a good rate I would really apprecaite it!

I'm looking into buying an Escort 8500 X50 in the next few weeks. I was also interested in buying a laser jammer to go along with it, but I am so torn between the Escort ZR3 and the Blinder M20. According to radarbusters.com, the ZR3 is about 93% accurate where as the Blinder is 100% accurate. Man, looks like I'm gonna have to pick out of a hat or something. BTW JTB, radarbusters.com still sells the ZR3 on their website.

Ever test ever done has proved that jammers don't work. Do a google search for it and there are tons of articles. By the way in most states if you get cought with one they can arrest you.

I watched something on the speed channel where they were testing them with the newest lasers, and they were defenitely working.

Really? Which tests are you reading?
And no, laser jammers are not illegal as light emissions are not regulated in the same way that radar is. Perhaps you are confusing laser and radar?

I can personally vouch for how effective it is -- which matches all reputable tests done.

I've only read of one laser-diffuser/jammer that works, and I believe it was the M20... from the link in a post above - I can ASSURE you that (for some reason) EVO guys don't seem to think about radar, and have no detectors...

Buy a V1 or the top of the line escort/passport - it will save your ***.

I got "instant on'd" by a state cop today, using Ka band radar... I was doing 90 in a 55 or 65, and was able to get off of it enough to save my own ***.

If they're using laser, you're going to need something more than an escort or a V1 - they just let you know you're going to get a ticket.

Do the research - the laser JAMMERS are legal - RADAR jammers are not... and while there are many claimed laser jammers out there; I believe only the one has proved to work.

If nothing else, buy a good radar detector!
