questions, confusion about exhaust for EVO
I am dying to get an turboback exhaust for me evo but I am really worried about my warrantee. What parts of the warrantee could be affected by a turboback exhaust?? If I go with a cat will it make it less risky to lose warrantee? If price is not an issue what are the best turbobacks? I really want one that fits as if it were stock. Does adding a turboback throw any codes and if so can I get rid of them? ( 03 EVO ) thanks in advance!
Most dealers will over-look a cat-back exhaust. No warrenty issues b/c its after the cat and the O2 sensors.
Dealers DO NOT like downpipes and or high flow cats or cat-delete pipes. They directly affect the stock engine management thru the O2 sensors (ie air/fuel ratio) and can **** them off.
Can you run without a cel? Yes, you can buy the O2 sensor fix for a couple of $$$ and/or space out the O2 sensors to avoid the CEL. Run a search and you will see.
Determine what you want to do. Finding the best of both worlds is difficult at best. Carrying a full warrenty with some hefty mods is gonna be though. Possible, but tough.
I like HKS products, but look at "The ehxaust thread" for advice on what works best for you concerning your possible turbo-back.
