Alright, so I'm at my local
dealer getting some warranty work done (O2 sensor replacement) and having the recall sticker put on. I notice an "LED under body light kit" box sitting on the mechanic's toolbox. I ask him in jest if they are putting the kits on their cars. To my amazement (and disgust) he laughs and tells me they are putting the kits on all the non-MR Evos!
I went out to look under one of the GSRs in the lot, and sure enough there is an LED underbody lighting kit on it! Can somebody say RICE?
What the heck are they thinking ricing out new Evos? Is this going on at other dealers?

Yeah very weird, I wonder if they even know the laws about neon/LED underbody kits. I know I got a hard lesson when a cop wrote me a $350 ticket for license plate covers.

Why in the world would a dealer do that? And why would they do it on an Evo? Even though it is an insane idea I would think you'd be more apt to find a honda or scion dealer doing that. Wait a minute....what am I saying....I wouldn't expect anybody to do this. Sounds very strange. Do they also cut a hole in the console or center stack to put some switch in to turn it on and off. wierd.
According to the warranty wouldn't this effect the whole electrical system and burn the clutch up, pop the tires, and blow the pistons anyway.

i bought my evo there, and never filled out a survey. hell about 6 people on this board bought there car there. anyway, that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard. WHYYYYY? i am glad i got mine before they pulled that crap. and shouldnt someone explain to them that 70% of the customers that buy this car wont want those.
ps- it is way illegal to have in oregon, and if you dont beleive me come on down to Seaside when spring brake rolls around, and watch hondas get pulled over by the dozen for it.
