Drop in Air Filter
I have heard that the stock air box is fine unless you are really pushing some serious HP 400+ and that people that switch it out with a high flow setup were having problems with the GFB Stealth BOV which i plan to install so was wondering what suggestions you guys had for a brand of drop in air filter
Heard that if it is the kind that needs to be oiled like the K&N it can cause problems down the road due to oil running from the filter down your pipes and what not, is this really a problem or just paranoia????

well, if you make a decision about that K&N drop in, i'm selling mine for $55 shipped OBO. i've used it for all of 600 miles. i'm planning on switching to an open cone intake, which is why i'm selling this one. shoot me a pm if you're interested.
If you let the filter sit overnight after you clean it you want have any problems. I have had K&N filters on all my cars for years and never have had a problem and have never heard of anyone else having a problem either. Plus with our very sensitive MAF sensor the K&N works great with it. There have been many post about this subject. If you change to an open cone style filter be prepared for drivability problems plus getting you car retuned for the change in the A/F ratio.
I tried doing a search on drop in filters and some others but didnt find many just found some info on the BOV i was talking about ... but thanks for the info i didnt think it would be a problem since i have used them in the past but on muscle cars that didnt have all the gizmos and what not that these evo's have ... this is my first sports car that has electronics other than lights and radio lol
