All you are doing when you shift with one of these auto/ manual shifters is pushing a button beneath the console. When you push that shifter forward there is a button or swtich that is pushed closed by the shifter. When they put the shifting ability on the steering wheel all they are doing is adding another button to complete the circuit. It's pretty simple, just seems complicated. There are no manual parts to pushing that shifter forward in terms of connecting it to the tranny like an ordinary manual.

its just like thos flipers on Ferrari, BMW, mercedes, Audi and im pretty sure is300 come w/ those..correct me if im wrong...

I think the ferraris come with a sequential transmission while the audi, bmw etc have clutchless manuals. when you push the button (stick whatever) the clutch is hydrolically activated, and the gear is changed... clutchless manuals are almost allways slower then standard trannys.... seq trannys... they are another story.
