vibration detector?

Well, after reading djmikeymike's post about his experience with vandalism, I'm considering some sort of device that picks up vibrations on the car. Now, I don't want a full-fledge security system quite yet, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice as far as a device like this, one that would page me or send a signal to a vibrator letting me know of whatever alerts. am i even making sense?

Like a proxemity sensor w/o the alarm? It would go off for every vibration.

Monkey is right, it would probably go off all the time. Rain, heavy winds, trucks going by.
