Missed on the US EVO picture from M5 site

I was looking a bit more into that infamous ACD button or not picture and something else came out. Well you can compare it your self.

To me, one of those pictures is not right. The question is which one?

Ah, good ole inconsistencies. Good eye, good catch. Nothing too appealing about the CF "Evolution" plate imo. I like that they stuck with the same interior as the US Lancer and the VII. It has a lot going for it I think...aside from the AC controls that so many people don't like.

maybe they were just testing the mechanics of the car that are bound for the US, which don't include the styling cues?

Now the question is whether that interior of the Red EVO wasn't from the US model or the carbon plate is the one that we are not going to see here! I so hope for the second one since it gives me a little bit of hope for the ACD switch that works!

As I said in the other thread too. The guy drove the US version, but made no claim that the pictures were of the US version. The pics are probably from a JDM spec car.

From what I understood, the JSpec version of the car would have that carbon fiber plate, and the U.S. Spec would not. So if it has the carbon plate, it's JSpec. If it doesn't, it's US Spec. Thats the way I understood it anyhow. I could be wrong.

Also, notice that the Recaros in this picture lack the heavy thigh bolsters that are shown to be present on the JSpec car's seats.

Hmm, another good one!! The smaller seats from the M5 source picture are definitely meant for the US guys! Note that I purposely didn't say a big US guys or something along the way!

Just curious where you got this information (not saying you're wrong)? I haven't really heard anything in writing about that CF plate by the shifter; just seen the close-up picture.

At the Japan Vehicles site, where we first saw those specs for the Evo 8.

Japan Vehicles Evo 8 Specs

Under the "Panel" section, it says the following:

"Real carbon fibre Evolution logo plate (at shift lever panel, only fr 6M/T)"

That just stuck in my head somehow. So, it seems like only the 6-speed GSR and 6-speed RS will have that plate, and only in Japan/Europe.

It has never been mentioned in connection with the US Evo in any of those stat sheets that have come around.

From that same page, you can see the JSpec interior of the RS has the same low thigh bolser seats (http://www.japanvehicles.com/newcars...vo8/rsint2.jpg). Do you think that's an inconsistancy (ie pictures from a different evo model) or that there's two recaro seat types and we're getting the same as the RS?

EDIT: to clairify, do you think the pictures of the seats with the extra bolstering come from an evo 7 and that all evo 8s have the lower type seats.

If it were J-spec, it should say "Evolution 8." From what I've been able to gather, the US version will be the only one named simply, "Lancer Evolution"

I think the one with the carbon fiber beneath the shifter is the American version. Since I don't think we're getting the ACD anymore, I think the other is probably a Euro-bound version, or maybe a Thai version?

According to Japan Vehicles, the JDM model is going to be called just Evolution too. See where it says "abolished numbering."
