P0300???
P0300???
Yeah I know everyone is tired of hearing about this error code and I definitely feel for those who have been getting it. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who hasn't (knock on wood). Does it pretty much mean you'll probably never get this light, if you haven't in two years and does anybody have an educated guess at what percentage of EVO owners and which models (year of make) are being affected by this error code? I'm just curious-Thanks!
If you don't have it yet, you probably won't get it.......until you swap your clutch, or if you install cams or something. BUt who knows for sure, as cars get older they start making more noise, and that is the cause of all this. No way to know %100
I got mine after 15,000 miles - about 15 months old. Dunno what to do about it, I get the flutter in 5th. I'm just paying attention to all the other threads and waiting...
I got it once in a blue moon when I was stock.
then I got the turbo back, then I got it every month, then I got it every week, then I got it every 20 miles.
I think the dirty filter does help it a bit.
Anyway, got the dealer flash and what dealer told me that the car was just too sensitive.
So got dealer flash and got rid of p0300 code.
That and my lack of cat code as well.
Ever since the dealer flash, I haven't gotten any cel light at all.
What my fear is that those bastards at the dealer loaded a eclipse flash or flashed it to where it's insensitive to even a real knock or misfire, so the cel light wont come on.
That or they didn't know how to load the flash and just disconnected the cel light fuse or the bulb.
I hate mitsu dealers around here.

i got this at 9700 miles stock right after a car wash in cold weather...weird thing was i checked everything and found that spark plug number 1 and 4 were really loose.(almost finger tight from the dealer). I've never touched that before. I tighted it. Went to autozone had ECU reseted. Got a turboback exhaust the following week and intake with no flash yet. Driven for about 600+ miles and no error code yet.
