Help reading EGT guage!!

Help reading EGT guage!!

I posted this in one of the other sections...but nobody replied can anyone help me with some advice?

i just installed my EGT guage....anybody can help me with reading it?...what should it be at normally?...any help would be great....thanks...wayne...www.pulpracing.com

Your readings will depend a lot on where the probe is located.

i have mine in runner #1 about 2-2.5 inches from the head and usually see no higher than 800. idle is around 530, cruising typically around 700.

I see the same numbers as tokeone, in degrees Fahrenheit since I'm using Autometer. I am tapped in the same area utilizing the stock heat shield bolt hole in runner number one.
