Crazy 2005 fast idel feature

This weekend I tuned a MR customer's car who was without a doubt the craziest driver I have ever witnesed. When he came back from his test drive he was flogging the car without any mercy and when he pulled into the parking lot the car was hanging a fast idel about 3500 rpms for a few moments.

I tuned another MR and the owner's wife took it for a qucik spin and she missed the 1 - 2 shift real bad and it also hung the idel real fast at 3500 for a few moments.

I am thinking there is some new feature in the 2005 ecu which is causing this, but I dont think I want to test it out on any of my customer's cars as it seems to take some very abusive driving to trigger this function

Has anyone else experienced this in a 2005 Evo yet ?

i get that sometime after the Turbo Timer shuts down and on restart. The idle will go up to about 3000rpm shortly.

i have a silver MR and have never experienced the "fast idle" issue. however, i only have about 1300 miles on the car and had just started running it really hard (5000-6500 rpms) after about 1100 miles.
