MR out for only one year?

It seems that with the Evo IX comming out later on this year that means that the MR will only have a production lifespan of one year with only "1000" made. I could be wrong on this, so correct me if I"m wrong. But my question is what is ur comments, concerns, 2 cents on this? Do u think the MR will hold a higher resale value/collectable becasue of this? Lets get some good feedback.

Price will drop mostly, I'd predict to 30,000 depending on how many IX they will bring here. The 03's will drop even more. Sigh

thats good for you cause you own an MR.i don't see the price going down that bad when the 9 gets here.you figure out about three year span worth of evo8,and they didn't make a lot of them, and only 1000 MRs.if the numbers stay low,it should hold strong in the resell market.but than again it's just a car,and just like all cars they not worth **** when you sell them.

My dealer talked to Mitsubishi and they said 1500 MR's. I also read in an article that if this demand is met they will adjust to the market. This leads me to believe that this could be a little sale hype. When the WRX came out in 2001 they said they would only make 4,000 or so, and they ended up selling over 9,000 that year. Not sure of those exact numbers. Anyway, I have an MR and it doesn't say 1 of 1500 anywhere on it which is the case usually on a true limited production car. Either way the Evo's resale is excellent and the MR should be better.

Would you actually say that the regular evo has that good of resale? Also it seems like most people that have evos mod them. In a lot of peoples eyes that actually devalues the car.

I thought the MR was just a trim option. So, the IX will have an MR trim?

I think they sold like 12,000 WRX's.

The 2006 models will be the IX's. I haven't heard anything about a Evo IX MR yet, do you know any details?

The resell price could drop alot if Mitsubishi goes under in the US.

I agree with u for the most part but everyone say 1000, even Mit. Dealers usually dont know $hit. Thats true with the WRX but there is not just the MR, they have the RS out too which usuall pulls out aobut 6500-8500 per year. Plus most people dont want to fork out the extra money to get an MR when its not that much different. Cuz MR's right now are being marked up hella, anywhere from 3-7k above MSRP. Why cuz its limited and people will pay. Yes i do agree they will probably make total about another 2k more but i dont think it will be too much more cuz of the price, not much of diff between the RS and now u also have other competers, STI ect.
