I'm not a big fan of how the 04' style tailight look at all (especially on the silver car) so I'm trying to decide how I want to mod them. I've used the black out spray before and it looks really good if you're going for the dark tint look.

 

do a search... just type in tails or MR tails or JDM tails or taillights or rear lights or modded tails or altezza or anything else and you'll see no less that 15 threads on this very topic. You'll even see many great pictures of all of the available options! Good luck!

 

i love my evo vii tails they make me cry every time i look at them... they are the best thing on my car, or the best thing i could ever put on it lol

hehe sorry, yeah I've seen them all- I just wanted to run a poll to see what everyone else thought would look the best on the silver car.

 

I couldn't stand the "boy-racer" OE clears on my Apex Silver... however, I didn't want to spend $400 just to change the look of the tail lights. So, I covered mine in a 7 year vinyl. They now look the same as any late model Japanese car with red tail lights.

 

Cool... I didn't see the poll before. I have silver too. Right now I'm stock, but I definitely prefer "Black the interior housing- keep lense clear"

 

I agree. I like the MR style but would rather put the $400 towards some cams. I wonder what the best way is to replicate that look. In that picture is the housing blacked out? Or is the lense a different color.

How do you mean? Different than the pic I posted? You mean like the clear part blacked out? A friend in the DC Evo club has a black evo, dark tinted with blacked out headlights and totally blacked tails. It looks amazing.

 

Yeah- meaning not the lense blackened out but the chrome housing. Like the headlights are done.
