Help!!! Tore off oil filter

I was helping my brother changing his oil and he tore off the filter and only a little is left on and can't get it off?

A big *** pair of pliars wont grip what's left? If you've torn the can off of a filter base than whoever tightened that fliter down needs to have all 10 of his thumbs cut off.

Well, if he managed to tighten the filter down that much, he must have all thumbs.

if you have an air compressor with an air hammer, you can take it to the lip of the oil filter and slowly hammer it out, until the leftover filter starts turning.....do it right and you're golden.....do it wrong....well, i dunno...it's up to you.........

note: only do this if you are handy with pneumatic tools...if not...sorry...don't know any other way....
