I did 15 laps of the nurburgring in bmw 318 rental car. incredible experience. incredible variety of corners and elevation change. no helmet required, and you are out there with everything from motorcylces, to tour buses, to exotics. had a a few scary moments like almost re-ending a motorcylce who slowed to a crawl in a corner, coming too-hot into a chicane and straightlining it, and oversteering on a corner exit, putting 2 wheels in the dirt in front of a bunch of spectators. if you are anywhere near it on vacation the track is open to the public thur, and fri from 5-8, and on weekends.

I have that SCC also.. I imagine their time is pretty good, but I bet somebody like that Mitsu rally driver could pull the best time out of the Evo..

 

I have a video with a chick who drives a taxi M5 going through a turn between 2 motorcycles
It was on carfreaks website for a while, not sure if it's still there.
If someone can host it, I can ftp it over. I believe the movie is pretty large.
I think a person doing a thing like that over here would get banned forever

That girl actually drives the 24hour race very successfully and she is driving instructor
for BMW Motorsports. She's a funny and nice girl and very human.
She has a restaurant at the track with her family.

 

a well driven evo will do 8 minutes or slightly less...older GSR's might do 8.15

 

Man less than 8 minutes is a word! That's M3 CSL and GT-3 RS niveau.

But we'll see some numbers soon for sure.
