Mitsubishi $ woes continue
Please Mitsu, DO NOT advertise the Evo, the less people know about it, the less we have to worry about thefts, cops, and all around trash talkers...though it'd be nice if more girls knew what the hell an Evo is
I dont know what will happen with MMNA, but Mitsubishi is one of the largest corporations in Japan. Mitsubishi encompases the automotive division, heavy equipment division, huge electronics division, and a massive Bank/Financial Institution. Where I work there are hundreds of Mitsubishi Monitors and Electronics products. With all the financial woes of the automotive division - warranty issues/debt/cover-ups......I have no idea where the division is headed. As far as the Mitsubishi company as a whole entity......I cant really see it going under....
Mitsu is slowly recovering from all its problems. It can't happen overnight. A positive for Mitsu was that in the month of December they made their objective on car sales. A newly designed Eclipse is dropping in the early summer and a new truck.

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and am looking to purchase an evo in the very near future. How ever this post ans other similar posts are strating to worry me a bit. Is Mitsu Motors really at risk at going bankrupt? If that happens, does that mean tha warranties will become void and that the value of the evo would greatly diminish?
Thanks.

For the warranty I don't know, but if Mitsu go bankrupt and stop production of the Evo.... I'm getting ASAP an MR.
But look like Mitsu won't go bankrupt yet.

All of the divisions are loosely related. The one huge company was broken into several smaller companies after the US took over Japan at the end of the war. They are not as "close knit" as some may think. Usually when subsidiaries are created the parent company owns all, or most of the stock in the smaller one. this is not so here. If you read above most of the stock is owned by several other firms not related at all to Parent Mitsubishi. Big momma did give the car company hella money but it appears to have been squandered. That is not surprising however, just look at the bank the GOVT bailed out "resona" or the current predicament that "daiei" is in. In comparison to those, it looks like the same old business is at work in Mitsubishi Motors.
Mistu can be saved with some better management and some common sense. Right now i see NO lancer ES's driving where i live. the montero sport suv was a nice one, but they failed to build off of it. The build quality is good on the cars, but the styling, dealer treatment, and the overall atmosphere is what turns buyers away to nissan. Nissan and other japanese companies have a more streamlined and simple approach, they provide cars that people want. The G35? the 350Z? who cares if they are slower than the evo, they sell like hotcakes. The managenment needs to realize this. No grannies buy a FWD eclipse, nobody wants one. Please your customers if you want them to keep coming back.
they just need more stuff
Not to knock any of the other modles but besides mitsus... Lancers , lancer Evos , and Eclipse why buy a mitsu. Other companys blow them away in every category. They need to try and sell family cars and trucks , wagons that out do other brands if they wanna stay afloat. No company makes only performance and stays afloat at least in america. Exotics from overseas are an exception.
