Hey guys, this might be kind of a dumb question and someone might have already posted this, but I've been looking at pics of evo's and always wondered what that switch is underneeth the hand brake is for? and is it only in JDM evo's or is it in US models as well.

 

That is the intercooler spray button. You can put it on auto or manually spray the intercooler with water..

 

It's what makes the Evo win against the STi in almost every magazine reviews.

Don't tell Subaru that though.

i thought the sti had it to. a friend of mine loves sti's and everytime he trys to tell me why the sti is better than evo he always brings that up. although he is full of **** so it could be a lie.

 

STi Also has IC sprayer.

I think for the STI its some kind of ddc or dcc controller or whatever you call it. It transfers more power to the front/rear wheels by adjusting it.

 

it wets your evo down, so she's all nice and wet and hot and bothered.

 

it starts the v-tec.

thanks man..that sounds like a pretty logical explaination of the switch...and now since no one has answered my second question does it come with US evo's or is it JDM only?

My 2003 GSR has it. It has since been deleted by Mitsubishi in US Evos. Can't speak for the JDMs.

 

now that he knows what it is is there any way to get rid of that and make it do something else?
