I just put a down payment on an Evo MR and I ran the Vin thu carfax.com.. it does not show that it's an MR, just says

Year/Make/Model: 2005 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION Body Style: Sedan 4 DR Manufactured In: JAPAN

is there any part in the vin that says it's an MR,?

Unfortunately there's no difference in the VIN number for the MR. The 5th and 6th digits for the Evo VIII/MR is "H8". The RS is different, though. It has "H3" at this position. Hope that helps.

 

BTW, Carfax is not always right 100% of the time. My old '95 Eclipse GS-T showed up as and Eclipse Spyder (there was no Spyder convertible until the '96 model year).

 

I'll second that, my pal with an 89 integra was reported on carfax as having a sunroof. Ive been in the car countless times, and I'll tell you, it has NO sunroof. The roof is a solid piece of metal with no hole or pane of glass in it.
