throttle lag

my car is starting to act a little strange. it's not unbearable, but just a little unusual.

normally, whenever i have the rpms about 3500, the throttle is super responsive. it just goes. but now for some reason, when i hit the gas, the rpms blip up a bit and then finally responds. it's almost as if the turbo is spooling slower than normal. my car has about 12,000 miles. does anyone know what this might be? i don't race the car, and i always make sure to cool off the turbo.

thanks,
ray

If your RPMs go up and you aren't accelerating, the one and ONLY thing it could be is a slipping clutch.

i thought that too, but i'm not even on the clutch...it seems to be fine from a standing start..it's just when i'm already moving. isn't the clutch already disengaged? can it still slip at that point?

clutch can still slip when moving depending on how worn it is.

also check for boost leaks. hoses, clamps etc.
do you have a boost gauge.... if not get one and check readings

not trying to sound like an ***, just tryin to help

good luck man,
Ron

ok..so i'm pretty sure it's my clutch now. it slips all over the RPM range. I have to accelerate gradually to even get the car going.

can anyone recommend a good shop to replace the clutch in/around San Diego?

what would you guys recommend for a non-racing clutch. I'm looking at ACT but i need a place to get it installed.
