Unhappy Mitsubishi is changing specs

Well last night I went on to the mitsubishi web site and i found a few specs changed First the front rotors changed from 14 inchs to only 12.8 inch rotors and the rear rotors were at 12 inchs and it changed to 11.8. Also the oil capacity changed from 4.3 to 4.8 quarts. What is going on? just wondering if someone has an answer.

They had a mistake with the specs when they first put up the site, since then they have fixed it. It's a typo

That sounds the same size as the evo 7.....I think I can remember them being quoted at 325mm for the front rotors.. if you divide by 25.4 (the amount of mm in an inch) you will conclude with 12.8...I am not surprised at this..

you don't need rotors that fill the inside of 20" rims, those are for show not go, or in this case stop, bad pun

Front Brake Diameter (in/mm) 12.6" / 320
Rear Brake Diameter (in/mm) 11.8" / 300

Looks like smaller then STi's

At least tires are still wider (235 vs. 225).

Who the heck is working for . Typos? They better not work that way with production on my evo! I've picked out the brakes and the weight disturbition the first time I look throught it!

Mitsubish needs.
1. Car enthusicst to market analize the evo's market!
2. Have a tech or car guy to look over the spec before posting. Or have us computer/car guys here to do their job.

This really show how the company is operated. Anybody cheaking will think. 14" brakes under 17" rims? Meaning 15.5 ID? .75" for caliper room?

Ok, ok, i'm just pissed about front limited slip and ACD. Dont' mind me on my mood after finding out Subaru didnt "stip" their customers. But i still feel on the road now we are in close competition instead of blowing them away.

Well, in first specs they had 17'' at front and 16'' at rear.
So 14'' was a big improvement.

I've heard a few people here saying they feel "ripped off" buy Mitsubishi for excluding a few things, or, if Mutsubishi adds these things in the future Evo "I'm being ripped off". Keep in mind, you get what you pay for. There's no freebies.

I'm not too worried about the hp, etc. With an exhaust you should be able to easily hit around 300hp.

I'm curious if they use the same size injectors, etc... probably, but those are the little things you can't find out till later.

Another small note... I have the Evo VII RS2 brochure from EI and in the option list it shows the Evo VII RS2 with a helical type front LSD, while the RS has no front LSD and a mechanical rear LSD. I just wish they brought over ACD, but it is a clutch type system and is guaranteed to wear out fast.

This is something that kind of puzzles me for a while. They stated 19 psi at 3500 and then drop to 16 psi at 6500.

The turbo that I run on my car is a bit smaller than that one (it is a Forced Performance Big T28), but my car can hold 21 psi all the way to the 8000! And that was without too much of a porting.

My point is that EVOs turbo should be able to keep with that kind of boost fairly easy. The on thing that it would stop it is something very restrictive in the intake/exhaust path. But opening that and letting that big turbo to breath the way it should. 19 psi of boost would bring much more power than just around 300 HP. My guesses are somewhere around 350 HP instead.

That will play the important rule of course. On the other hand, if we get at least 550s in there, we should be fine for quite some time. Of course, this under the assumption that fuel pump can keep up with everything else!!

If we get the Evo VII fuel pump then we're better off than normal, but that's gonna have to be one of the first things to go. It's also possible the car could hold 19psi with the turbo, but due to LEV emissions, the ECU reduces it... the car has a boost control solenoid, correct?
