Question thinking ahead...

hey everyone, well i drive an 04' Rally Red "RS" and i had some question's i needed help on. First off i'm thinking of getting another evo maybe the "06". i wanted the Graphite Grey MR, but i just couldn't let my baby go for that cheap. So my question is do you guys think that if the IX comes with the contraversial "mivec" that it would be kind of like a ginuea pig since its rather new in the 4g63? i mean i understand that there will be an abundance of aftermarket for some time and all but its not as tried as the old 4g63 right? I know i might get mixed opinions for saying that i have not modded anything on my car but the HID kit so i just feel like i want the ACD and six speed tranny and hopefully a new interior, pleaaase mitsu! i dont know though i love my car but right now im in a situation where i could sell my car before it deppreciates anymore i have 10k on the odo. and since i wont have a car payment for some time, till the ix comes out, what would you do? thanx guy's.

if you are thinking about selling / trading than i would do it. i am sure when the 9 comes out the graphite grey will be an option. it will have the 6 speed and all the mr has to offer as well as leather seats. if i were in your shoes i would be the first one on the list for the new 9 when it comes out.

Then decide what you really want - is it worth the extra $15,000 (minimum) it will cost you to upgrade to a 6 speed, ABS, etc, on the newer model?!

Why in the hell did you buy an RS?! you trackin the car? autocrossin? or do you just like it hard core rough?!

Is there something you don't like about your RS?

Maybe you should reevaluate your priorities?!

Do you even know who you are anymore ?!

How about... keep the RS and screw the IX? You asked for advice, there's mine, even if I HAD the money to switch from my 8 to a 9 I wouldn't do it, I'd just do the internal swaps needed to make them equals on the inside 9's look like Dr. Frankenstein got ahold of a bunch of tuner cars

I also don't see much difference in the 9 compared to the 8. I know there are internals, and engine stuff.. but other than that.. there isn't much.

To be honest, I think I like the looks of the 8 better than the 9.

My .02

That's why it's called the Evolution; the latest iteration is always better than the outgoing model (to varying degrees). Since we don't yet know the specs of the USDM IX we don't know how much of an improvement we're going to see over the VIII. What happens if it comes with S-AYC and 300 hp for a modest price increase over the VIII (totally hypothetical scenario); is that not worth having ?
