Help w/ seat rails
I found a guy who might be willing to trade my stock recaro's for his set of Bride Brix I's.... My question is, does anyone know if the evo VIII's stock recaro seat rail will fit on a bride seat?.... Thanks for the help in advance
^ i don' t think that's true.
in any case... if you want to keep your stock recaro seat base (the portion that bolts into the floorpan of the car) you'll have to remove the sliders and then see where the bride seat's mounts may or maynot overlap and what not.
chances are what you're going to have to do (and this isn't a bad idea because think about it, who else is going to have use for your evo seat base that fits perfectly into your evo cuz it came outta your car? almost no one) is go somewhere, i went to rmr they have basically a full metal shop and they made me a series (but in your case it will prolly be two) metal plates. the metal plates will be about one inch wide and maybe a half centimeter thick and they will span the length necessary to get your bride rails to overlap with your stock base.
now you don't have to do it this way. you could just find places that you could drill in teh base if there is extra material but i highly doubt that there is. your whole goal is to stick the bride rails (which i hope you have btw, and if you don't you can always use the stock rails which are very high quality) into the stock base.
of course getting the bride base for the evo would be easier and might get you a few extra bonuses like height adjustment, but they're also hard to get ahold of and prolly run a pretty penny. hope this all helps.
