ex e36 M3 owner?
I had a 1995 E36 M3 that I drove for 8 years and 90,000 miles. Then I had a 350Z Track for about a year-and-a-half. Then I got my EVO. The EVO kicks *** on both of those cars. The EVO also kicks *** on my current daily driver, a Audi B6 S4 6MT with 340 hp V8.
wow rich u truely live up to ur name.. but you are right.. the 95 m3 was a great car 10 yrs ago... but 10 yrs of tech is simply too much to overlook. id take the new audi s4 or the new m3 as a daily driver tho.. god they are beauiful.. but whats up with audi having an open diff on the back of the s4? thats barbaric!! they cant cut in a lsd onto a 60k car??? those crazy germans.. when will they learn.
one problem i had with my m3 was no matter how much power u added.. the 1/4 mile times are never impresive. there are turbo m3's running mid to high 12's. and evo can do that with xede and exhaust. the m3 was good on the freeway tho i must say.

but an evo is better in every performance aspect. other than acceleration from a roll stock.. and when modified the m3 has no chance even supercharged. its just too heavy and motor is too stressed even stock. the m3 csl is an entirely different animal.

FYI Even lowly 1.8t' quattro's have an electronic locking diff in the rear. Its the front that are open

I had a'99 M3 and it is totally different than the Evo VIII. The M3 was a fast car that was very comfy for long trips, and was a blast on the track. The interior was very much a luxury car. The Evo is fast in a different way.....there is the turbo kick, and the fact that you really do not have to slow down for anything at all!! The Evo could take a turn much faster with less practice. I am sure after a while I could have done the same in my M3, but the Evo did it more naturally for me I guess. The other diffrence is that the Evo interior (with the exception of the Recaro seats) is very low rent, and too cheap looking and feeling. The M3, being a BMW, had a wonderful interior that was much better than the Evo in my opinion. My M3 had the sport package, so the seats were pretty well bolstered. Either way you will have a fun car, so have fun!!
Meeyatch1, nice collection! You need supra and rx7 to complete your JDM super car collection!
I have only one weekend car (94 911 turbo) and the M3 is my daily ride. I like EVO because it’s track ability and I won’t feel too bad if I have to rip all interior out in the future to make it a dedicate track car.

Okay guys...
I own an E36 M3 and an Evo.
Although the Evo is very receptive to mods - the M3 can be built into a Viper killer as well if you have the time and money to do it.

I have an Evo 8 and a 95 M3 with a lot of goodies on both cars.
The M3 is for sale. It is my daily driver, but am now in the market for a truck. Two different types of cars. The Evo is my track car and it is amazing.
