Unhappy Am i the only one displeased by the new look of the evo?

Man i got myself all worked up about the evolution coming to America too.. now im not to sure of it. When i finally got used to the evo 7(because it doesnt look as aggressive as the 5 and 6) they come out with the 8!!! AHHh im going crazy. I thought they were bring the 7 to america too.... man its been a depressing and sad day for me. So now i am wondering i theres any way to modify the 8 to look like a 7 at least...

I for one like the way the 8 looks better then any Evo since the 5, which is still my favorite. The 6 was just butt ugly imo - but I love it's performance.... The 7 looked better, but I like the slightly more rounded look of the 8 a little better, except the taillights...

I really like the look of the 8. The only thing I think they should have added was a front lip so that the front was a little more aggressive... nothing the aftermarket won't take care of. I feel the same way about the 7s front end. I love the rear and the new rear spoiler compared to the 7's. I have a feeling it looks a lot better in person than some of the pics that have been taken.

at first i hated the look of the evo 8 . . . after a while, the look grew on me and i like it alot now . . . the only thing i'd replace is the tail lights and maybe the centerpeice with the logo (however, even that is starting to grow on me)

The 8 is average at best. it looks good on a track but damn, those Euros kill me. The best looking ones, IMO, were the 5 and the 7.

ANd for those of us that have been on this board for a while, just remember when we dreamed of having an Evo in the states.....

Right now I feel like people are acting like spoiled rich kids (read acting) because its not exaclty what they want. We finally got the Evo, and its not good enough.

Like I said before and Ill say it again, its the beauty of economics. If you dont like it, dont buy it. Its just that simple. Then those of us that do want it will actually have a crack at getting one at a somewhat reasonable price.....

You are not alone Dim. I'm still trying to warm up to it.
I have not gotten used to the spoiler as yet. So far I'm still considering replacing it - maybe with an STi spoiler or the smaller option. Or maybe even remove it and coast the sleeper look.

On the other hand, one plus is that its light ,low drag, and functional.

I miss the raw agression of prior Evos. You know what I mean - the big in your face fogs gave it attitude. But like KK said, aftermarket to the rescue.

I think of myself to have been here for a while. I remember the dreams of 276 hp + awd in the states. Frankly. alot of things do dissapoint me with the new evo but I wont go there. Mitsu made a monumental step by bringing it over and I wont give them **** for that. Now alot of things that I wanted with the Evo are on the Scooby and it makes me feel like switching boats. But Ill wait until I see a write up of both until I do. Im just leaning towards the scooby right now.

You're not the only one, but I for one have grown to love it over the last few months. No different than how the VII grew on me.

Personally, I don't think ANY of the Evo's have been what you would call, "pretty" (but the six was visous looking as hell!) But I especially don't like the front end of the eight, either.

I'd say as many complaints as have been posted, give it maybe three months before several aftermarket companies have replacement grills and front-end kits available. I'd be willing to spend an extra grand or two to get that dumb Mitsu triangle thing off my grill. Make it look less like a Pokemon.

Well, I really don't care how the car looks like, as long as it performs as good as much more expensive cars. Any kind of look would be fine with me, if I could go out and beat stock ZO6 or a similar car on the autoX course!

I don't like the altezzas in the back or the front where the bumper curves upwards. I like the EVO 7 a lot better. It seemed so much more agressive than the VIII.

Some people like the aggresive, rugged look of the 6, while others like the mild-mannered beast look of the 7. The 6 is more my style. The 8 is on the other side of my spectrum. Too fancy looking IMO. But then, to each his own. I'll order a 6 from Japan when I have the $$$ (about 30 years from now )
